SAKURA YUME
Cherry Blossom Dream
March 15th, 2018 - May 6th, 2018
Celebrate Spring, Renewal and the Cherry Blossom Season.
SAKURA YUME // Cherry Blossom Dream is a large-scale seasonal installation from ARTECHOUSE’s creative team, where elements of Japanese culture and tradition become experiences at the intersection of art and technology. Visitors are invited to step into a moonlit, floating environment where larger than life koi fish and colorful cherry blossom petals react to their presence. Contemplate the beautiful and ephemeral nature of life over an interactive 3D sculpture of koi pond and walk narrow lantern lit "streets" that respond to their footsteps.
The installation is a collaborative effort between several artist groups. Curated by ARTECHOUSE it presents five interactive experiences:

“The blooming season of Sakura is always so short lived. Our goal was to create an immersive and interactive installation that would extend this beautiful experience yet preserve the transient and ephemeral nature of it." - Tati, Founder and Managing Director.
"Being heavily invested in the DC art and culture over the past 9 years and having called DC home for over 24 years, we wanted to create an installation that would be very representative of our home city. And the city's longstanding spring tradition of the Cherry Blossoms was definitely an inspiration," - Sandro, Founder and Art Director.
"Coinciding with peak bloom, the latest ARTECHOUSE digital installation immerses you in the signature beauty of cherry blossoms. While previous installations have featured abstract geometrical figures that react to patron movements, the latest seasonal dazzler incorporates koi fish and cherry blossom petals that respond to your presence." - Washington City Paper
